They won't guess the truth, after all, and Five still spends the following years alone, wanting to go back to his siblings. When he sends Five to the moon, he leaves the children to decide what they believe for themselves. What does Reginald do? He builds a prison specifically for Five and after an outburst about time travel, decides it's time. The pills aren't an option, a prison won't hold him, and soon time itself won't be a barrier. What had seemed to be a potentially valuable asset is turning dangerous, and something has to be done. They were all too old now for Three to agree to rumor him, too old to forget, old enough to realize what it meant if Five started to take the same pills as Vanya and his powers went away. Five was getting more and more confident (over-confident), showing greater ability with every day, and less regard for Reginald.
